WESTMINSTER WOODS CLAIRFIELD DRIVEURBAN SPACE
The urban space that this section of Clairfield Drive defines has been designed to serve as the grand entry to the master planned Westminster Woods community. As such it has several elements which work together to define a sense of entry, arrival and place. These characteristics are established through the arrangement of walls, porticos, walkways, yards, garden walls and boulevard planters which define the transition from the civic realm to private dwelling. The walls of the townhomes being nearly continuous and relatively close to the street form the edge of an urban room. Further, the main entry off of Gordon Street is anchored by three pavilions partially linked together with high garden walls. These structures frame the vista along Clairfield to the clock tower where the vista terminates. The urban space defined by all of these elements working together creates the grand entry to Westminster Woods.
